After spending a relaxing week to sleep because of the jet-lag, I started to visit Phnom Penh by doing tourist things to do ^_^.

First, I asked to my grand-parents to bring me to the Genocide Museum but they brought me to the National Museum instead. Yes it was a misunderstand… I think I needed to practice more my khmer before to come over ahah. But it’s ok, that was my first there and I really felt in love with that magical place which is located to the north of The Royal Palace.  The National Museum of Cambodia built from 17 to 20, homes the largest collection of Khmer art including sculptures, ceramics, bronzes and more of traditional arts. The design is inspired by the khmer temple architecture. The lovely courtyard garden takes place at the center of the museum included a Buddha statue as you can see on the pictures.

Also, the Royal University of Fine Arts and the department of Archaeology are situated next to the National Museum. I had the chance to see a class of cambodian traditional dance 🙂

It’s really interesting to see an university placed near to the Museum because you can go there during classes and being inspired as long as you need without checking inspirations on the internet. I also think that it’s important to preserve the culture and  to enhance the knowledge of Cambodia traditional arts.
